The waddling duck Schnäddi and his friend, the adventurous rabbit Höppi, live in the kingdom of Forest Meadows, the dreamiest and most beautiful place that one could ever imagine. The exciting story unfolds as the infamous and notorious racoon gang escapes from the royal Crow's Tower and the laboratory explodes together with the last gold reserves of Höppi’s uncle Zinni. Without gold, uncle Zinni is unable to create the birthday fireworks for the King – and without fireworks there will be no royal birthday celebration. Together with his best friend, the timidly waddling duck Schnäddi, the courageous Höppi secretly follows uncle Zinni into the Vail Mountains in order to search for more gold. On the way, the friends experience many exciting adventures!
The characters presented have a high identification value and should draw older and younger readers into the fantastical fairytale world, both through the creative artistry of the prose as well as the exceptional accompanying pictures.
A further issue of “Schnäddi und Höppi” is in planning and is expected to be available in German at the end of 2010.
With variations in the character of the narrator’s voice, the “Schnäddi und Höppi” text is particularly well suited for playback. When listening to the story carefully, children are not only engrossed but also learn something about nature, for example where the Polar Star can be found in the sky or what "fool’s gold" is.
A little duck named Schnäddi

A little waddling duck named Schnäddi lives with his family on a floating house boat right next to the stork family at the edge of a beautiful lake amid tall reeds and bulrushes. The cute, constantly babbling Schnäddi with the charming bunch of feathers on his head is so loveable you can’t resist taking him into your heart. He is jolly, playful, innocent and nice to everyone. However, contrary to the adventurous Höppi, Schnäddi is anything but daring. He is afraid of the dark and considers everything he does not know very dangerous. Although they do not always agree with one another, he always follows his friend everywhere and stumbles inadvertently into many a chaotic situation and from one mishap to another.
